Terms of service
The rules for a remote consultation, written to be read. If anything is unclear, ask before you book.
These terms apply to remote consultations booked through giorobotics.com. “I” and “me” refer to Giovanni Ventilii, an independent professional consultant working under the name Gio Robotics. “You” means the person or company that books a session.
1. The service
- A remote consultation by video call about HIWIN industrial robots and their controllers: troubleshooting alarms and faults, guidance on HRSS software updates and backups, writing and reviewing robot programs, and repair consulting.
- A standard session lasts 30 minutes and costs €59.
- Any additional work, such as writing a program or further sessions, is quoted separately and starts only after you accept the quote in writing (email is enough).
- The service is intended for businesses and professionals.
2. Advice only: your responsibilities
- I provide information and recommendations. I do not carry out work on your equipment.
- You decide whether and how to act on the advice. Every action is carried out by your own trained and authorised personnel, following the manufacturer’s documentation, your risk assessment and the laws and safety rules that apply at your site.
- You remain responsible for the safety of people and equipment, and for compliance at your site.
- No remote motion. I will not command robot motion remotely unless a qualified person is on site at the cell, holding the enabling device, with safeguarding in place, and you have agreed to it. Either of us can stop any step at any time.
- I will never advise bypassing or disabling safety functions.
3. Backups
You are responsible for making complete backups of programs, parameters and data before any change, including software updates, program edits and parameter changes. I will remind you, but the backup is yours to make and keep.
4. No guarantee of outcome
Remote diagnosis depends on the information available, the condition of the equipment and the actions taken on site. I work with professional care, but I cannot guarantee that a problem will be solved within a session, or at all.
5. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total liability arising from a session is limited to the fee you paid for that session. I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as production downtime or lost profit, or for damage resulting from actions carried out on site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Booking, payment and receipts
- The fee is paid in full at booking through PayPal. PayPal checkout also accepts debit and credit cards. Prices are in euro.
- A receipt is issued by Giovanni Ventilii as an individual professional consultant. No VAT is charged.
- Fees charged by your bank or payment provider, including currency conversion, are your own.
7. Cancellation, rescheduling and no-shows
- Cancellation at least 24 hours before the start: full refund to the original payment method.
- Cancellation less than 24 hours before the start: no refund.
- Rescheduling: you can move a booking once at no cost, using the link in your confirmation email. Please do it at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.
- No-show: if nobody joins within 15 minutes of the start time, the session counts as held and is not refunded. A late start does not extend the session.
- If I have to cancel, you choose between a full refund and a new time.
8. Confidentiality
- Both of us keep confidential any non-public information received through the service. On your side this includes programs, backups, drawings, photos, videos and process data; on mine, quotes and working material.
- I use your information only to provide the service. I do not pass it to third parties, except to the providers needed to run the service (see the privacy policy).
- These obligations continue after the session. They do not cover information that is public, that the receiving party already had, or that must be disclosed by law.
- Sessions are not recorded unless both of us agree beforehand.
9. Programs and documents written for you
Once paid, programs and documents I write for you under an accepted quote can be used and modified freely for your own equipment. I keep the right to reuse general know-how that contains none of your confidential information.
10. Independence and trademarks
- Gio Robotics is not affiliated with, endorsed or authorized by HIWIN Technologies Corp. HIWIN is a trademark of its owner, used only to describe the robots the service relates to.
- I do not supply or distribute HIWIN software, manuals or parts. You obtain software and documentation through official HIWIN channels.
- For warranty repairs, contact your HIWIN supplier or local HIWIN office. Opening or replacing components on a robot under warranty may affect the warranty: check with your supplier first.
11. Personal data
How personal data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably by email. If you book as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
13. Changes and language versions
The version of these terms in force when you book applies to that booking. These terms are available in English and Italian; if the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
